The death occurred, peacefully, at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, of Mary Claire Saunders, of Summerside, aged 81 years. Born in Calgary, Alta., she was the daughter of the late William J. and Claire M. (Willoughby) McKenna. Survived by her children, Susan (Erskine) Ashley, Kensington; Bill (Beth) Saunders, Calgary, Alta.; Ann Saunders (Rob Power), Jordan, Ont.; and Paul, Summerside; grandchildren, Matthew (Erin), Robbie (Alicia), Garreth and Maryann Ashley; Jennifer and Shannon Saunders; and by great-grandchildren, Tracen and Avery Ashley. Predeceased by her husband, Dr. James L. “Jim” Saunders. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Saturday, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside, for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment later in St. Paul's Cemetery, Summerside.
