It is with great sadness that the family of the late Freeman George Penney announce his peaceful passing on Friday, December 11th, 2009 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 82 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Anne (nee Ezekiel), sons: John (Ellen) and Stephen (Roseanne), daughters: Ruth Kawaja and Lois Penney, grandchildren: Anna and Jacqueline Kawaja, sisters: Ruth Skinner, Elizabeth (Scott) James and Rosealie (Dave) Lloyd, sisters-in-law: Etta Penney and Lorna Dwyer, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Freeman and Florence Penney and brother Frank Penney. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Monday from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 15th at 11:00 a.m. from the First United Church, Park Street with Rev. Dr. Wayne Cole officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First United Church Memorial Fund or to the Diabetic Association.
