Passed peacefully away on Sunday April 1, 2012 at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Centre, Maud Dormody at the age of 89 years. She is survived by her daughters: Melinda Vincent (Russ), Eileen Vincent (Will), son John Boland, 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren; sisters Cecilia Gallant, Bride Boland (Jim), brothers: John McCarthy, Jerome McCarthy, Peter McCarthy (Pearl), Leo McCarthy (Bella), brothers-in-law: Gerald Hynes, Derrick Dormody (Ellen), sisters-in-law: Clara Hickey, Nell White (Bill) as well as a large number of nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends. She was predeceased by her first husband John Boland, 1954, second husband Edward Dormody, 1998, son Tom Boland, 2005, grandson Johnny Vincent, 1968, parents: Patrick McCarthy, 1967 and Martha McCarthy, 1984, brothers: Patrick, 1966, and Lawrence in infancy, sisters: Theresa Hynes, 2007 and Loretta Hickey, 2009, sisters-in-law: Christine and Sadie McCarthy, brothers-in-law: Stephen Gallant and Frank Hickey. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, April 4th at 10:30 a.m. from Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Benoits Cove, Father Edmund Camacho officiating. The interment will follow at the Church Cemetery. Friends may visit Fillatre`s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. As expressions of sympathy donations in her memory may be made to Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish.
