MARTENS, KEITH FREDRICK July 15, 1954 - July 6, 2007 It is with heart breaking sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend in Victoria, BC. He is survived by his mother Mary Martens (Kamloops), brothers Ken (Linda) Richmond, Karl (Edmonton), Kevin (Diana), Kamloops, Kerry (Joanne) Vancouver and sister Karen Elder (David) Kamloops. His grandmother Helen Reimer (Vernon) and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces throughout Canada. Preceded by his father Bill Martens, December 1978 and grandparents Fred and Ruth Thrussell and grandpa Peter Reimer. Keith enjoyed life; from his early years performing music in front of family and friends. He won the Alberta accordion championship at the age of 8, and carried on with music throughout his life. He renovated houses for many years and was very good at it. He moved to Victoria and became a passionate gardener and handyman. His real gift was always helping others before himself. His warm and loving heart and his kindness to others will be sadly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to "Our House", 913 Johnson Street, Victoria, V8W 1M8 c/o Reverend Allen Tysick. This was Keith's home - away from home. A celebration of his life will be held in Kamloops on August 5th, 2007 at 2:00P.M. at Paul Lake picnic site (end of Lake Road) on the Condo side. A Memorial Service was held on July 13th, 2007 in Victoria at "Our House" with his wonderful friends who will miss his warm smile forever.
