Andrew Babiy of Kamloops, BC passed away on Monday, April 2nd, 2012 at the age of 88.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Lena and daughters Brenda Nordin (Rob) and Bev Decker (Dave). Andrew is also survived by the greatest joys of his life, his seven granddaughters; Amanda Russett (Chad), Crista Nordin (Joel Sanbrooks), Courtney Nordin (Scott Karwandy), Marcie Decker, Haley Decker, Ashley Nordin and Jordan Decker. Andy was recently blessed with a long-awaited great-grandson, Blake Russett. He also leaves one brother Walter and four sisters Annie, Mary, Alice and Clara.

Andrew was born in Poland in 1923, and came to Canada as a small boy. He was raised in Cherhill Alberta. He married Lena Vlnieska in 1954 and together they went into the service station and restaurant business in Whitecourt, Alberta. In 1969, Andrew moved with his wife and daughters to Kamloops, where he took up prospecting and mineral exploration.

A Memorial Prayer Service will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 635 Tranquille Road on Monday, April 9th, 2012 at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, and if friends desire, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Andrew's memory would be appreciated.
