ALBERT LECERF On Friday, July 20th, 2007 Albert LeCerf (Al) of East Barriere Lake, B.C. passed away peacefully in Kelowna General Hospital with his family at his side. Albert is predeceased by his parents Pierre and Blanche, brothers Henry and Charles, and sisters Marguerite and Louise. Albert was born in Innisfail, Alberta on December 6th, 1939, the youngest of eleven siblings. Albert is survived by his wife of 43 years Elodie, children Grant (Darleen) (Grandchildren Sam, Chris & Mark) of Barriere, BC, Bonnie (Murray) (Grandchildren Shay-Lynn & Brayden) of Edmonton, Alberta, Blayne (April) (Grandson Easton) of North Vancouver, BC. He also leaves behind his twin sister Theresa (Bob), sisters Jeanne, Alice (Ernie), Genevieve, Yvonne (Paul), brother George (Shirley), and many nephews and nieces. Albert moved his family to Louis Creek in 1966 and started work at Fadear Creek Lumber, staying with the sawmill until December of 1996 when he retired. He enjoyed helping out with his children's sports and activities, playing softball with the Fadear Creek Mavericks, participating in curling at the Barriere Curling Club and golfing with family and friends. Al and Elodie moved to Smurville on East Barriere Lake in August of 1996 where he was instrumental in getting hydro to East Barriere Lake residences. Grandpa could always be found behind the wheel of his boat with a fishing rod and beer in hand, or dragging a kid or two. He will always be remembered for his zest of life. Albert was a devoted husband, father, grandpa and friend and will be dearly missed by all. A Memorial Service to Celebrate Albert's life will be held on Saturday, August 4th, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at the Barriere Fall Fair Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Al may be made to the Barriere Search & Rescue, The Nicky Grummett Memorial Scholarship, or a charity of choice.
