Mr. Aylmer Read passed away peacefully at Royal Inland Hospital, Kamloops at the age of 89 years. He is survived by his loving wife Lorah, his daughters Carol (Mike) Cleaver of 108 Mile House, BC and Brenda (Glenn) Cain of Red Deer, Alberta; his sons Bob (Diane) Read of Kamloops and Ric Read of Castlegar, BC; and three step-daughters MaryAnn (Don) Grummett of Lethbridge, Alberta, Diane (David) Easton and Brenda Carto both of Kamloops. He also leaves to cherish his memory fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Aylmer was predeceased by his first wife Anna Marie Read in 1986. Aylmer was born in Fort Langley, BC in 1917. He resided in Kamloops for 60 years and worked primarily as a meat cutter and then with the City of Kamloops Parks Department prior to retirement. Dad worked hard, enjoyed his family and had a great sense of humour. Our family has been touched with the kind, compassionate care Dad received from the staff on 3-West at RIH - thank you. As well we appreciate all the care that Dr. T. Eccleston has given him over the years. A Celebration of Aylmer's life will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. in the Schoening Funeral Chapel with Pastor Terry Sauder officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
