It is with great sadness that the family of the late William John Fitzgerald announce his passing on Monday, December 14, 2009 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, at the age of 73 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories: his wife, Doreen, of 42 years; daughter, Kelly Pender (Steve) of Corner Brook; granddaughter, his little angel, Zoe; son, John Junior (Joanne) of Ottawa; brother, Eric (Joyce) of Corner Brook; sister, Mary Kearley (Dave) and Marilyn Hewett (Ted) of Corner Brook; brother-in-law, Allan Curnew (Mary) of Montreal, as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Eric Senior and Ona Fitzgerald. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road, on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 17, 2009 from St. John the Evangelist Cathedral, Main Street, with Archbishop Stewart Payne officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to Daffodil Place or the Cancer Society of Corner Brook.
