Age 81. Passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family, Monday, December 14, 2009. Predeceased by her husband James J. Murphy, parents Arthur Ethelbert and Emma (Bartlett) Viguers, and sister Verna Lalonde. Leaving to mourn sons Brian (Jean), Joe (Karen Pennell), Jim (Tanya) and Dan; daughters Karen Harding (Brian), Brenda Kirby (Tom), Joan Hayward (Ray), Judy McKenzie (Jerry) and Denise Murphy; and the source of so much joy and love, her beloved 19 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; sisters Olive Taylor, Renton Washington and Annie Tucker (friend Ralph Parsons); brother-in-law Leo Murphy (Cynth), sisters-in-law Mary Aylward, Catherine Jewel and Phyllis Murphy; devoted caregivers Judy Kennedy, Judy Parsons and Ashley Brace; and many beloved nieces and nephew and a wide circle of friends. Ada was a long-time member of the Kilbride Seniors’ Club and Ladies Dart League and the Golden Age Seniors’ Bowling League, where she enjoyed the friendship and companionship of her many buddies. Special thanks to Dr. Mark Porter, Dr. John Collingwood, Anne Marie Morrison, R.N. and the staff of 7 West, St. Clare’s Hospital for their compassionate care. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, with visitation on Tuesday, December 15 and Wednesday, December 16 from 2 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral service will take place from St. Paul’s Church, Goulds on Thursday, December 17 at 2 p.m. Internment to follow at Kilbride Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Eastern Newfoundland Chapter.
