Vivienne Jones

JONES, VIVIENNE LOUISE - On March 30, 2012, after a period of declining health, Vivienne Louise (Bevan) Jones passed away peacefully in her sleep in her eighty-ninth year. Vivienne was born in Britain Ferry, Wales, in 1923, the youngest child of the late William and Frances Everil (Jones) Bevan. She served in the Women's Auxiliary Air Force in WWII and after the war trained as a nurse and midwife. She immigrated to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada to work as a nurse and in 1957 met and married Arthur Edwin Jones, who had immigrated from England. In 1997 after forty years together in Hamilton the couple relocated to Saint John, New Brunswick, to be near their daughter’s family. They lived in their own home for several years, then at the Admiral Beatty Senior’s Complex, and latterly at the Loch Lomond Villa, where Vivienne, a trained opera singer in her youth, was known for frequently bursting into song. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur, and is survived by daughters Miriam Jones and Roberta Jones, step-daughter Anna Jones, son-in-law Joseph Galbo, grandson Alexander Galbo-Jones, nephew Mark Wimmers, and brothers-in-law Norman Jones, Ronald Jones, Robert Jones, and their families. The family owes a debt of gratitude to the staff on Dogwood Lane at the Loch Lomond Villa for their compassionate care. We would also like to thank the donors to the Garden Suite.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel at the Loch Lomond Villa, Saint John, New Brunswick, on April 20 at 12 pm, with a reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Loch Lomond Foundation (506-643-7170), the Alzheimer Society, or to the charity of your choice. There is an online guestbook at mymumsgarden.wordpress.com.
