DOIDGE On Monday, August 20th, 2007, we lost our precious father and husband, Harlow (Harley) Lee Doidge. It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to a man who touched many lives and will live on forever in our memories. Harley was born in Wynyard, Saskatchewan on February 2nd, 1949. He grew up on his family's farm nearby and attended the Foote School and completed high school in Wynyard. At 19, Harley left home and started a long and prestigious career with the RCMP, which he proudly served in for 27 years throughout British Columbia. In 1972 he was posted to Vancouver, where he met Joanne Babish, who became his wife on May 12th, 1973. In 1980 they welcomed their son Michael and then in 1983 their daughter Jodi into the family. The family lived in various places throughout BC, before finally residing in Kamloops in 1994 where Harley retired from the RCMP. Harley was predeceased by his father, Alfred Doidge. He leaves behind his mother Nora, loving wife Joanne, son Michael, daughter-in-law Shannon and their beautiful son Landon, daughter Jodi, brothers Charles (Pat), Leon (Karen), nieces Melanie (Kevin), Holly, Charmaine (Greg) and Treena, his mother-in-law Sylvia, sister-in-law Sandy. Harley was a lover of country music, old westerns and the simple things in life. He was a protector and a provider who would do anything for those he loved. A celebration of his life will be held at the Calvary Temple on Rogers Way, Kamloops, B.C., Monday, August 27th, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. with reception to follow at Thompson Rivers University's Panorama room located in the TRU World building from 4:00 p.m. onward. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the BC Lung Association, P.O. Box 34009 Stn D, Vancouver, B.C. V6J 9Z9 in memory of Harley would be appreciated.
