DUNN, PAUL RICHARD - 1940 - 2012 - Surrounded by his loving family, Paul Richard Dunn (aka Dick Dunn), 71, of Moncton, New Brunswick, went to heaven April 12th after a brief illness at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital. Dick was born in Fredericton on August 11th, 1940. He graduated from Fredericton High School in June, 1958. He was married to Sandra Elizabeth (Squarebriggs) Dunn on October 26, 1963. Dick began his career as a salesman for Quaker Oats early on. He then went on to be Sales Manager for McCain foods, for many years and was responsible for territories in Ontario. Later, he went onto C.M. McLean (which later became Cavendish Farms) where as Sales Manager, he was responsible for sales territories extending from Atlantic Canada (including Newfoundland) down to Trinidad and Tobago, West Indies also for years. Then Dick went on to even greater success self employed in his own company, Dunn/Ronahan Food Brokers working along with his wife Sandra Dunn, as well as, his business partner Ron Ronahan for many more years. Dick was also a long time member of the Shriners. He loved salmon fishing on the Little Southwest Miramichi River and owned and operated two successful outfitting fishing camps on the banks of his beloved river. He was loved and respected by everyone who ever had the pleasure of knowing his warm kindness, keen sense of humor, and his appreciation of life and profound love of family. He is survived by his mother, Margaret Wilkins (Howell) (stepfather Lloyd Wilkins – predeceased) of Fredericton, his parents in-law Ino and John Squarebriggs (predeceased) of Charlottetown. He is also survived by his beloved wife of 49 years Sandra Dunn of Moncton; children, Paul (Stéphane) of Moncton, David (Lisa) of Halifax; grandchildren, Lily and Owen of Halifax and grandkittens: Molly, Oliver and Sunnyboy. Sisters, Sylvia Anderson (Roger), Pam Weaver (Ron – pre deceased), Susan West (Gary), Gary Wilkins (Brenda), Sandra Fletcher (Colin), brother-in-law, John Squarebriggs Jr. (Barbara – pre deceased), Kenny (Faith), Susan (Wayne) and many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Donations made to the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital, Nephrology/Dialysis Unit, The War Amps, or The Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family. The Dunn family would also like to extend a special thank you to all the doctors, nurses and staff who took such wonderful care of Dad. We will forever hold a special place in our hearts for each of you, Dad, as well as, each of us appreciated all the fantastic work you did and do every day.
The funeral will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 17th, 2012 at 2:00 pm, Rev. Steve Berube presiding. Reception to following in the Garden View Room.
