Saki Nukina 1922 ~ 2007 Saki Nukina of Kamloops, passed away September 5th, 2007 at 85 years of age. Survived by her loving children, Sandra (Brian) Meron, Dennis (Michelle) Nukina all of Kamloops. Grandchildren, Eric, Heidi, Sky and Summer. Her brother, Tai (Yoshie) Nozoe, her sisters, Kaye McKelvey, and Midori (Tak) Katayama. Predeceased by her loving husband Mike Masao Nukina. Saki was born in Kelowna, B.C. on August 13th, 1922.† She left for Japan with her brother, Tai, at a very young age to attend school. Due to the outbreak of World War II, Saki was unable to return to Canada when she completed her education. Saki worked at a bank and an electric company during the war. In 1949, Saki moved back to Canada to live with her parents and sisters (Kaye and Midori) in Kelowna. Here she worked on a orchard farm harvesting potatoes and apples. Saki married Mike and moved to Kamloops in 1954 to help build their home.† She worked in a tomato cannery in Kamloops and at the McDonald Egg Farm in Westwold. Saki was a quiet and an extremely efficient woman who enjoyed gardening, drawing, reading, record keeping, movies, music, animals, puzzles, cooking and mushroom picking. A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 am. on Tuesday, September 11th at The Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel, 285 Fortune Drive.
