BURNS On Thursday, September 13, 2007 Mr. James Reginald "Jim" Burns of Kamloops passed away peacefully at the age of 77 years. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Beulah, his two daughters Carol (Bob) Richards and Bonnie Burns and his son Phil (Julie) all of Kamloops. Also left to cherish his memory are his two grandchildren Carolyn Lippert and Tim Wright, two great grandchildren Layne Richards and Alexis Lippert, his brother Doug (Wendy) Burns of Nanaimo and his half sister Margaret Burns. Jim was predeceased by four brothers and one sister. Jim was born and raised in Nova Scotia. He met Beulah McCullough there and they were married in Digby, Nova Scotia in 1952. The family came to British Columbia in 1970 settling in Kamloops. Jim worked for the Department of Indian Affairs where he learned his trade of plumbing. Following that he owned and operated Burns Contracting. Jim was an avid car enthusiast. He had a voracious appetite for lobster and never lost his love for Nova Scotia. A Celebration of Jim's Life will be held on Monday, September 17, 2007 at 12:00 P.M. in the Schoening Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dan Warkentin officiating. Flowers are welcome or donations in memory of Jim may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 201 - 635 Victoria Street, Kamloops, BC, V2C 2B3.
