Sharon Ann Steele ‘Moma’, age 71 of Rear Main Street, Reserve Mines, passed away Friday, April 13, 2012 at the Glace Bay Hospital.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Fraser and Marcella (McIntyre) Goodwin.
Sharon was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Reserve Mines. She was a very quiet and jolly lady. Her greatest love and concern was for her children and grandchildren. Sharon was an avid hockey fan of her great-grandson, Michael. She always kept up to date news on his hockey team.
Sharon is survived by her two daughters, Donna (Brent) Cameron, Reserve Mines, Norma (Jimmy), Glace Bay; two sons, Fraser (Michelle), Robbie (Patricia), both of Glace Bay; one sister, Jean (Clayton) MacDonald, Glace Bay; 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a special niece, Sherry.
Sharon was predeceased by her parents.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. The funeral mass, officiated by Rev. Dan Boudreau is Saturday, April 28, 2012, at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, Reserve Mines.
Reception to be held immediately after the mass followed by interment in St. John’s Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy for Sharon, memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation.
