It is with great sadness that the family of the late Carl Ross Gouchie age 73 of Amherst announce his passing on Monday, April 16, 2012 at Northumberland Hall, Amherst, NS.
Born in Nappan, he was a son of the late Daniel and Lavinia (Estabrooks) Gouchie.
Carl loved the outdoors and had a passion for hunting and fishing. He enjoyed hockey, playing darts and cards and was an avid Montreal Canadians fan.
Carl had a great love of music and enjoyed singing and dancing.
He will be sadly missed by his wife the former Ann O’Brien, daughters Jean, Dawn (Jason) and Crystal all of Amherst, Mylinda (Jason) King of Tidnish, Tina (Terry) Peverill of Truro and Amanda of Halifax; 16 grandchildren Alvira, Sandra, Scott, Jessica, Josh, Alec, Brandon, Mark, Parker, Tyler, Emily, Liam, Caleb, Casey, Carlie-Rose and Kira as well as four sisters Doris, Edna, Nancy and Patsy and eight brothers Richie, Ollie, Normie, Art, Roger, Terry, Murray and Michael and many, many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Carl was predeceased by one son Carl “Boo” and one sister Linda.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Campbell’s Funeral Home, Amherst, NS.
Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 10 a.m. from Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Amherst with Father Vernon Driscoll officiating.
Interment will take place at a later date in the St. Charles-Nativity Cemetery, Amherst, NS.
Memorial donations in Carl’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Canadian Diabetic Association or the charity of your choice.
