It is with great sadness that the family of the late Aletha Toope announces her passing on Wednesday, December 16th, 2009 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, at the age of 79 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are: her loving husband of 57 years, Arthur; three children: Calvin (Violet), Corner Brook, Rhoda (Wayne) Morgan, Corner Brook and Valda (David) Dewling, Massey Drive; two grandsons: Duane Dewling, Corner Brook and Adam (Amy) Morgan, St. John’s; brother, Amos (Eileen) White, Corner Brook; brothers and sisters-in-law: Reuben (Agnes) Toope, Corner Brook, John (Peggy) Toope, Lewisporte, Edith Greenland, Clarke’s Beach, Blanche (Tony) Wells, Pasadena and Emma (Gerald) Stratton, Gander; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her parents, Adam and Maria White; and brothers: Sidney, Lindsay and Stanley. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 18th at 2:00 p.m. from Memorial United, Curling. Reverend Clayton Parsons officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to Memorial United Church, Curling.
