Andrew, Ruth — 79, Three Mile Plains, Hants County. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother and grandmother who passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side. Mom was born in Cardiff, Wales on June 14, 1932 to our grandparents, Ivor and Frances Moore. The youngest of two girls, she was predeceased by her best friend and older sister Jean. In 1956 mom left Wales for Montreal, Canada where she met our dad, Jack, who sadly predeceased mom in March of 2010. After they married and started a family, never putting herself first, she left her job with IBM and with great zeal devoted her life to us, Lynette (Gary) Daniels, Vickie (Rick) Wilnoff, Jacqui (Mike) Mosher and her grandchildren, Ian, Sarah, Jaclyn, great-grandchildren, Dylan, Kayla, Nicholas, Shaden and new baby, Mason. Always a witty remark, mom faced life with a wonderful sense of humour and a lady-like softness that touched all that were lucky enough to know her. Whether near or far, her adventurous go at a moments notice attitude, would land she and dad almost anywhere, most likely ending on a beach where we all share so many fond memories. For all the times she held us for no reason, or took our fears away, made our hearts smile or encouraged us on our journeys, our hearts are now crying and she will be profoundly missed, but so lovingly remembered. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the VON and palliative care team for the care and compassion shown to mom and our family, especially Bev, Printhie and Caroline, who seemed to always go above and beyond, to Ann, who became so much more than a caregiver, to Dave and Doreen, our adopted family, to Yvonne, for the regular Monday visits mom looked so forward to, also to Dr. Buckley, Betty and all the homecare girls. The dedication and support helped make a difficult time a little easier. Cremation has taken place under the care of Lindsay`s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. There will be no visitation by request. A private family service will be held at one of mom`s favourite spots in Green Bay at a later date. Donations in Mom`s memory may be made to the Palliative Care Fund of the Hants Community Hospital. Online condolences may be sent by clicking on "Sign Guest Book” at www.lindsaysfuneralhome.com.
