It is with great sadness that the family of the late George O’Keefe of Port au Choix, NL, announce his passing on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s at the age of 75 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories children Valerie (Philip) Hoskins, St. Albans, Sandra (Ivan) Burt, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Jack Cornick (Iris), Alberta, Alma (Cameron) House, Port Saunders, Claude (Tina) Cornick, Holyrood, Gerard (Gael), Halifax, Floyd (Jeanette) and Stanley (Kim), Port au Choix; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brothers Ralph (Bessie) O’Keefe, Donald (Joyce) O’Keefe, Gregory (Patricia) O’Keefe, and David (Sharon) O’Keefe, Port au Choix; sisters Phyllis (Samuel) Spence, Joyce (Jim) Rose, Port au Choix, and Dinah (Loman) Rumbolt, Ontario; and a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Laura and son Ronald, parents Ralph and Alma O’Keefe and brother, Barry. Visitation took place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port au Choix on Saturday and Sunday. The funeral service took place on Monday, April 16 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church, with Fr. Lee Lainey officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery, Sandy Cove.
