Maureen Patricia NORMOYLE 1921 - 2007 Maureen "Gaggy" Normoyle of Barriere, BC, passed away at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital, Clearwater, BC, on Saturday, September 22, 2007. She was 86 years of age. Maureen will be deeply missed by her children, Deirdre (Brian) Fitzpatrick of Richmond, BC, Kieran (Cathy) Normoyle of North Vancouver, BC, Virginia Friedsam of Richmond, BC, James (Frances) Normoyle of Kamloops, BC and Kathleen (Graham) Frezell of Barriere, BC. Maureen also leaves her 12 grandchildren, Kevin, Brendan, Kimberly, James (Monique), Donnie (Shelby), Michael (Kelly), Dana (Robert), Robbie, James, Aron, Victoria and Christopher (Ashley), her six great grandchildren, Samantha, Brianna, Britney, Nicole, Haylee, and Owen, and her nieces, Linda and Sharon. Maureen leaves behind the pets she cherished, Reilly and Finnigan. Maureen was predeceased by Vincent Normoyle, her loving husband of 56 years, and by her parents, James and Mary Reilly, her sister, Joan Butterworth, her niece, Clare Butterworth and her son-in-law, Don Friedsam. Maureen was born in Rangoon, Burma, on February 21, 1921, where her father was stationed. She was born in the military hospital. They left Burma when she was three years old. Her father was stationed in Glasgow, Scotland, for one year and finally returned to Belfast, where she resided for thirty three years, until they moved to Cassiar, BC. After leaving Cassiar to reside in Vancouver, BC, until 1999, at which time they moved to Barriere, BC. Maureen cherished Christmas time when all her children and grandchildren were around, meeting people, talking, and going to the senior center. Thank you to all the caring people in Maureen's life over the years, including Dr. Clare and staff at the Barriere Medical Centre, the staff at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital in Clearwater, BC, Barriere Hospice, Barriere Home Care staff, the Ambulance Service for Barriere and for Clearwater, Bruce Clary and the staff at Barriere IDA Pharmacy, and a special thank you to Amy Irving, Deb Ponto, Jay Harms, Father O'Reilly, Cathy Fraser, Georgia Dewey, Jane Milburn and to Bill Krzemien. Prayers will be recited at the Catholic Church of St. George, 5024 Barriere Town Road, Barriere, BC, on Friday, September 28, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. Father Donal O'Reilly will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Catholic Church of St. George. After the service there will be a reception provided by the Catholic Women's League. Following cremation, Maureen will be interred with her husband Vincent at the Garden of Gethsemane in Surrey, BC.
