Loretta (Nugent) Mulliln

Born In: Florence, Nova Scotia, Canada

Passed in: Florence, Nova Scotia, Canada
Passed on: April 15th, 2012

It is with deep sadness but faith in her peace with God that we announce the passing of our mom, Loretta Mullin on Sunday, April 15, 2012.
Born and raised in Florence, she was the eldest daughter of the late Thomas and Gladys (Stone) Nugent.
In her younger years she worked at the old Harbour View Hospital.
She had a love of music and this fostered her love of dance. Her home in Antigonish was the rest spot for family travellers where you were guaranteed a good cup of tea with something delicious and fresh from the oven.
For the past three years mom resided at Miners Memorial Manor where she loved to tease the girls of her cooking ability and how things were done in “my day.”
Mom’s greatest love was her family, who will all miss her dearly. They are her daughters, Deborah (Robert) White, Florence, and Louise Beaton, Bras d’Or; her sons, Brian, Ottawa, Jack (Jean), Bras d’Or, Paul (Penni), Antigonish, Ron (Nicole), Sydney; grandchildren, Curtis, Rhonda, Sara, Miranda, Cameron, Brendon, Greer and Nicholas; great-grandchildren, Aidan, Alexis and Rebecca; her sisters, Gladys LeBlanc (Lloyd), Florence, Winnifred (Neil) Porter, Port Colbourne, and Florence (Robert) Helm, Rockport; her cousin, Evelyn (Leonard) Miller, Newfoundland, who she shared a special bond with; many nieces and nephews who span several generations.
Besides her husband, Roland, she was also predeceased by her sister, Mary and her husband Ernest LeBlanc and her brother, Thomas and his wife Mary Nugent.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to Dr. Doug Kholsmith for his care of mom while at the manor and to all the staff who extended not just care but love and kindness.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 19 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines. The funeral mass, officiated by Fr. Thomas John, will be held at St. Stephen’s Church, Florence, at 2 p.m. Friday. A time of fellowship will follow immediately after in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Arthritis Association of Nova Scotia.
Words of comfort may be forwarded to jmjobesfuneralhome@ns.aliantzinc.ca.
