THOMPSON, ELSON - Elson William Thompson, loving husband of Agnes (Whittaker) Thompson, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at the Turnbull Nursing Home. Born 1930 in Richmond Corner, NB he was the son of the late George William and Ethel Lillian (Anderson) Thompson. In addition to this devoted wife Agnes of 53 years, he is survived by his sons Walter of Edmonton, Alberta and Donald (Kim) of Saint John; daughters Carol Sleep (Daniel) of Quispamsis, Mary MacNeill (Chris Cogswell) of Saint John and Debbie Hasel of Hay Lakes, AB; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister Evelyn Sproule of Woodstock; brother-in-law Leroy Bragdon of Maine; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Elson was predeceased by his sister Ruby Bragdon and son David Thompson.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Thursday, April 19 from 7-9 pm and Friday, April 20 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, April 21 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
