PEDERSEN, WALTER - Walter Mark Pedersen, 64, Halifax, passed away on April 16, 2012. Born in Saint John, NB, Mark was a son of Ken Pedersen, Saint John, and Minty Golding, Saint John. With a mix of curiosity, empathy, and good-humour, he found success, joy, and love throughout his life. He built careers as a journalist and then entrepreneur, but always endeavoured to put family and friends first. He helped his wife, Dawn (nee Blair), raise two content and healthy children, Andy and Jen. He stayed in close contact throughout his life with his siblings, Erik, Jon, Jane, and Chris, and along the way forged a parade of friendships and connections – both short-term and long – with many of the people whose paths crossed with his. Over the past five years, he was a loving and devoted companion to his grandchildren, Max and Matilda.
A service to celebrate Mark’s life will be held Saturday, April 18, at 11 am at J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, 149 Herring Cove Rd., in Halifax. Another service in Saint John will be scheduled soon. Donations in lieu of flowers to PEN Canada or Halifax Public Library.
