Margaret Ruby Crane, of Broadway, Whitney Pier, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by her loving husband and family.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late James and Phyllis (Boutilier) MacQueen.
To say that Margie loved and appreciated her family and how they reciprocated that love can’t be overstated. The pride of a close knit, loving and caring family was a hallmark of her life. Margie appreciated life until the end because of the love extended to her by her family.
Surviving are her husband, Alonzo; daughters, Crystel (Pat) Gorman, Sandra (David) Muise and Deana (Charles) Capstick, Sydney; sons, Bobby (Debbie) and Darrell, Sydney; sisters, Rita Murphy, Alberta, and Phyllis (Frank) Gerden, St. Catharines, Ont.; brothers, Ernest (Anne) MacQueen, New Glasgow, Bernard (Marie), Glace Bay and Lloyd (Valerie), Dartmouth; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Margie was predeceased by her sister, Mary Young and brothers, John and Ronald.
A funeral service will be held at St. Alban’s Anglican Church on Saturday, 2 p.m., with Archdeacon Brenda Drake officiating. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
