We, the family of the late John A. Currie, wish to express sincere appreciation for the love and support we received during our great loss. We were so blessed to have several family members with us in Halifax and on the drive home. Special thanks to Danita and Krista, our angels. God sent you to be with us at just the right time. We are thankful for friends and cousins in Halifax who were so kind to us while we were there. Thank you to Dr. Knott for the care you gave John over the years and to the liver transplant team and all who cared for John at the QE11 Health Sciences Centre. Thank you Fr. Paul and everyone who gave spiritual support at the mass held for John while he was in the hospital. We were deeply moved by the visits to our home and funeral home, phone calls, emails, mass and sympathy cards, memorial and monetary donations, flowers and gifts of food. Thank you to The Knights of Columbus for your prayers at the funeral home, to Fr. MacInnis, Fr. P Abbass, Fr. F Abbass, Fr. Cameron and Fr. Graham for celebrating the funeral mass and to all those who attended. We were overwhelmed upon arrival at the church to see such an outpouring of love and respect for our family. Fr. Paul, your homily could not have been more fitting with regards to our lives: faith, family and friends. Sincere thanks to the pallbearers, readers, presenters of offertory gifts, Eucharistic ministers, T.W. Curry’s and to Debbie Levangie, Ronnie Martin, Joe Peter MacLean and Glenn Campbell for the beautiful music. Thank you to the men of Talbot House who set up tents and chairs outside of the church and everyone who contributed towards the luncheon. To our family and friends who travelled we were grateful to have you with us. Donnie, Danita, Brent, Melinda and families we cherish your unending kindness. Sincere gratitude to Enterprise Rent-a-Car, Thunder Bay District Health Unit, Whitney Pier Memorial Jr High, St. Mary’s Parish, Frenchvale Seniors Club, Boisdale Ways and Means, Mira Provincial Park, Friends of the Mira, Steve, Marie and Ron for your expressions of sympathy. Thank you to Thelma, Charlene and Matthew for being at our home when we arrived at such a late hour. We are thankful for being part of such a great community and for our friends from here, Halifax and Thunder Bay as your compassion continues to help us. Fr. Dan we love and admire you for the strength you give us. We will be forever grateful to the Currie and DeLeskie families for your endless support. John loved you all so much.
