Whilena Fontaine, 95, of Ashby Road, Sydney, passed away at home on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009.
Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late John and Bridgett Ann (Kelly) Campbell.
Whilena was a member of St. Theresa parish, Sydney Pensioner’s Club and the ladies auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 138, Ashby.
Surviving are her daughter, Joan (Alexander) Brewer, Portland, Maine; sons, Joseph and Louis, at home; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Whilena was predeceased by her husband, Joseph in 1981; daughters, Mary and Patricia; four sisters and five brothers.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at St. Theresa Church on Saturday 10 a.m., with Rev. James Oliver officiating. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery.
