BOURQUE, GÉRARD - Gérard Bourque, 91, of Moncton, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre. Born on January 6, 1921 in Moncton, he was the son of the late Tilmon and Alida (Gagnon) Bourque. Before his retirement, Gérard worked as an electrician for the City of Moncton. He was a member of the Club d’Âge d’Or Notre-Dame-de-Grâce and loved doing genealogy research, playing crib, cards, shuffle board with his wife and friends as well as salmon fishing but most of all, he enjoyed cooking turkey or ham for family gatherings. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Doris (Dupuis); six children: Dorina Picard (Yvan) of Cocagne, Charline Landry (Valmont) of Cap-Pelé, Diane Arsenault (Alfred) of Abrams Village, PEI, Jean (Lynda) and Lisette Babineau (Paul), both of Moncton and Ginette Couturier (Christian) of Dieppe; five sisters and brothers: Patricia Cormier (late Fred) of Presque Isle, Maine, Laurie (Marie), Camille (Rita) and Joseph (late Anne-Marie), all of Memramcook, and Annette Blanchette (late Conrad) of Dieppe; 15 grandchildren: Katie, Lisa, Annick, Sonia, Marc, Tania, Mélanie, Ghislain, Monique, Marie Josée, Christine, Gilles, Denis, Stéphanie and Martin; nine great-grandchildren: Jacob, Everly, Oscar, Jacob, Tyler, Leela, Ella, Chantal and Alexa, several nieces and nephews as well as one daughter-in-law, Linda. He was predeceased by one son, Henry; three sisters: Eulalie, Imelda and Germaine as well as one brother, Thaddée.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-Grâce R.C. Church, 854 Mountain Road, Moncton, on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Saint-Thomas cemetery, Memramcook.
