The family of the late Lloyd Meade wishes to express our sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks to everyone who shared their condolences and provided support during our time of sorrow.
We gratefully acknowledge the many expressions of sympathy through the gifts of food, visits, phone calls, sympathy cards, flowers and presence at the funeral home and church service. To those that so kindly gave to the Shriners in aid of crippled and burned children, and to St. George’s Church in Robinsons, thank you so much for ensuring that Lloyd’s giving ways are remembered through these two important causes.
A warm thank you to Rev. Canon Dawn Barrett, Rev. Hubert Coombs, Rev. Gwendolyn Butler, and Rt. Rev. Leonard Whitten for a moving funeral service. Gwen, your homily was a fitting tribute to such a kind and gentle man. To the choir and organist, Ms. Liz Porter, and to the soloist Susan Fowlow, thank you for making such beautiful music. Thank you to the Canam Lodge Masons who were pallbearers and to all Masons and Shriners who came from far and wide to honour Lloyd’s commitment, with special gratitude to Ed Penney who helped in so many ways during those difficult days. The family, especially Kim, Brent and Kenny, wishes to thank Brock University, Dept. of Innovation, Trade and Rural Development - Government of NL, and College of the North Atlantic for their compassion and support. To Rev. Pearce in Robinsons for his support, a big thank you. To the ACW in Robinsons for the lovely food after the service and to Wayne and Karen, your hospitality and food comforted us. Thank you to Russell’s Funeral Home for their care and attention during this sad time.
While it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please be assured your kindness will always be remembered. As we approach the holiday season, may we all reflect on and honour Lloyd’s life with the commitment to live in the moment, to treasure those we love, and to selflessly give to others.
Maxine, Kim, Brent and Kenny, and the Meade and Morris families.
