GRUNERT On Thursday, October 4, 2007 Mrs. Lydia Grunert (nee Konesky) passed away peacefully at Kamloops at the age of 79 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 1/2 years, Alvin; her two sons Howie of Vancouver and Bruce (Jan) of Kamloops; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren, and also her brother Edward. Lydia was born October 9, 1927 in Markinch, Saskatchewan. The family moved to Vancouver, where Lydia attended Lord Bing School. She met Alvin in 1947 and they were married in 1950. She and Alvin settled in Burnaby and raised their two sons. She was a stay at home mom, and took pleasure in that role immensely and was a "Great Mom". Lydia enjoyed camping, water skiing and shopping trips. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. A private family graveside service was held at Hillside Cemetery.
