GARRON, Victor Edward – 86, Sluice Point, Yarmouth Co., passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 24, 2012. Born February 20, 1926 in Brooklyn, Yarmouth Co., he was a son of the late Franklin and Frances (Thibodeau) Garron. Victor was a retired painter. He loved mowing his lawn and he was a great supporter of the AA movement. He is survived by his wife, Viola M. (Bourque) Garron, as well as by his children, Arnold (Julie) Garron and Archie (Gail) Garron, both of Sluice Point, and Frances (Lionel) Landry, Amirault’s Hill; 8 grandchildren and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Leona (John) Surette and Stella Amon, both of Brooklyn; Gladys McIntosh, Stellarton. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by sons, Brian and Rene, as well as by brothers, Ernest and Joseph Garron. Visitation took place from 2-4 and 7-9 Thursday, with prayers at 8 p.m., both at H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert St., Yarmouth. A funeral mass was held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 27 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Amirault’s Hill, Father Maurice LeBlanc, cjm, officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. It was requested that there be family flowers only. Donations in memory of Victor may be made to a charity of your choice.
