Olive Catherine TOBIN September 18, 1930 - October 31, 2007 Olive Tobin (nÈe Smith) passed away at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital in Clearwater, BC on October 31, 2007 after a brief illness. She was 77 years of age. Olive will be sadly missed by those who mattered most to her - her family. Mourning her passing are her husband Jim; her children Laverne (John), Veronica (Chuck), Gene (Judy), Willard (Debbie), Jim (Charlene), Laurene (Wesley), Loren (Loraine), Dawn (Rickey), Lane (Shelby) and Vern (Tina); 28 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren; her sisters Valerie, Lorraine and Constance, and her brother Eugene. Olive was pre-deceased by her parents, Guy and Isabel Smith (nÈe Shuttleworth) and by her brothers, Allan, Lawrence and Stanley. Olive loved fishing, camping and traveling. She and Jim were able to travel until very recently. They especially enjoyed seeing the beauty of BC, and Olive loved visiting her family as she and Jim drove from town to town. Olive also had a passion for her garden and ensured it was well-kept and bountiful. More than anything, however, Olive loved her family. The more kids she had in her house, the better she liked it, and she always made room for more people at the family get togethers. Jim and the family marveled at the way Olive calmly and lovingly cared for her family. Regardless of how many household tasks she faced, Olive always found time to cuddle and nurture the youngest babies and toddlers. A Memorial Service to honour and remember Olive Tobin will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 11, 2007 in the banquet room at the Wells Gray Inn, Clearwater, BC. Lloyd Strickland, Minister, will officiate. Refreshments will follow the service. Funeral arrangements entrusted to North Thompson Funeral Services, 73 Taren Drive, Box 2404 RR2, Clearwater, BC, V0E 1N0, Telephone: 250-674-3030.
