It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, Alvin LeBlanc, 72, on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Alder Point, he was the son of the late Leander and Julia (MacLean) LeBlanc. He was a member of Carman United Church, Sydney Mines.
Alvin worked 30 years at Marine Atlantic until his retirement in 2002. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards. Most of all, he enjoyed his time spent with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Anna (Bradley) LeBlanc; daughter, Lynn (John); sons, John (Leah-Ann), both of Sydney Mines, Travis (Waneta), Georges River, and Troy (Tena), Sydney Mines. He is also survived by grandchildren, Bradley (Diana) and Charlie (Jodi), who he thought of as sons, also Tristan, Brandon, Austin, Jenna, Evan and Hannah; great-grandchildren, Makayla and Sydney; brothers, George (Betty), North Sydney, Forbes (Maureen), Point Aconi, David (Ann), Sydney Mines, Eddie (Bernadette), Millville; sister, Patsy (Phillip) Warren, Point Aconi and his best friend of 40 years, Roy Smith.
Besides his parents, Alvin was predeceased by a sister, Lois, three sisters, one brother in infancy, brothers-in-law, Nicholas Howell, David Bradley, Charlie Bradley, and sister-in-law, Jacqueline LeBlanc.

Visitation for Alvin LeBlanc will be held in the J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines, today (Monday, Dec. 21) from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service celebrating his life will take place Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Carman United Church, Clyde Ave., Sydney Mines, with Rev. Nick Phillips officiating. The burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Sydney Mines.
