Grace Roberts (McDowell) Vaillancourt, a resident of Fraser Avenue, Sydney Mines, passed away Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009.
Born in Sydney Mines, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Roberts) McDowell. She was a member of Clyde Avenue Baptist Church and the ladies guild and a Dominion Life Member of the Woman’s Missionary Society.
She is survived by her son, John Pierre (Sheila), Wolfville; also by five grandchildren, Anna, Stephen, Luke, Geoffrey and Josh; five great-grandchildren, Liam, Lauren, Kaitlyn, Aiden and Vera Lynn.
Predeceased by husband, Jules; son, Gregory; five brothers, John, William, Robert, Harry and Jacob.
Visitation will be held at Fillmore and Whitman Funeral Home today (Tuesday), Dec. 22, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial service will be held at Clyde Avenue Baptist Church at a later date with Rev. Hopper officiating.
Donations in Grace’s memory may be made to the Clyde Avenue Baptist Church or a charity of one’s choice.
