John "Jack" Barry
BARRY, JOHN "JACK" - The death of John "Jack" Barry of Derby Junction, NB occurred at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the age of 65. Born in Newcastle, NB, Jack was the son of the late John Byron and Mary Ellen (Helen) (Glidden) Barry. Jack was an avid fisherman and hunter who also loved the outdoors and a member of Royal Canadian Legion Br. # 10 , Newcastle, NB. He loved his family and friends dearly and always loved to dance. Jack retired from UPM after more than 27 years of service. He was also a police officer on the Toronto Police Force and worked in the mines. He will dearly missed. Jack is survived by two daughters: Kyla Vermette (Paul) and Aimee Jamieson (Jody) all of Moncton, NB; three sisters: Kay Preston (John) of Derby Junction, NB, Margaret Mullin (Paul) of South Esk, NB and Carmel Baisley (Calvin) of Loggieville, NB; two brothers: Boyd Barry (Kathy Arseneau) Douglastown, NB and Pat (Marjorie Morrison) of Calgary, AB.; several nieces and nephews also by his former wife & friend Alberta Barry.
Visitation will be held at Bell’s Funeral Home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from on Saturday, May 5, 2012 from St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church at 10 AM with Father Tom Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery. In Jack’s memory a donation may be made to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation, Miramichi Regional Hospital Foundation or a memorial of ones choice.
