Passed peacefully away on Sunday, December 20, 2009 in the presence of her family at the L.A. Miller Centre aged 61. Predeceased by her loving husband of 40 years, Walter Simmons. Leaving to mourn with cherished memories daughters: Trish Simmons (Lew Piercey), Elaine Simmons (Alan Thorne) and son Bob Simmons (DD); grandchildren: Michael (Andrea Spurrell) and Alex Coffin, Kosta Manolov and Nicholas and Derek Simmons; brother Tom Hodder (Cathy); sisters: Effie Pelley, Charlotte Follett (Ted Browne) Mary Payne, Phyllis Smith (Unice) and Jean Waterman (John Peckford), sisters-in-law: Mary Hodder (Clayton Penney), Minnie Butler, Ruby Rowe, Doris Bishop, Nellie Whelan (Vernon) and brother-in-law Dr. Jim Simmons (Lorraine); special friend and neighbour Ivy Penney, also a large circle of extended family and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Lesa Dawson for her kindness and sincerity towards our mother since 2002. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, with visitation on Monday from 2 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral Service to take place on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 2 p.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel.
