MACKINDER Roger Earl Mackinder passed away quietly on November 20, 2007 at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops at the age of 78. He was born in Kamloops where he spent almost all of his life. As an accountant, Roger was a very active member of the local business community for 50 years. Over the years, much of his spare time was given to volunteering. He was an active member of Kiwanis and the Kamloops United Church. He served for many years as a board member of the Kamloops Christian Hostel. Roger was always there to offer a helpful hand or providing sage advise. Roger is survived by his wife Lois, of 57 years, daughter Laureen, son David (Sheri), son Ian (Suzanne), grandchildren Brenna and Alex and his brother Jack (Colleen). He is predeceased by his sister Barbara. A service celebrating his life will be held at the United Church, 421 St. Paul Street on Saturday, December 1st, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the BC Lung Association, PO Box 34009 Station D, Vancouver, B.C. V6J 4M2 in memory of Roger. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Royal Inland Hospital who made him comfortable in his final days.
