TORGERSON: Wilbur Marvin Torgerson, age 72, of Swift Current, SK. passed away April 29, 2012 at Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, Sk. The Funeral Service was held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 5, 2012 from the Chapel of Warren's Funeral Home with Pastor Alex Allan officiating. The organist was Arlene Olson. The Life Tribute was presented by Brian Hillier. The pallbearers were Taylor Torgerson, Tracy Larsson, Jason Ueckert, Luanne Schmidt, Marty Schmidt, and Trevor Torgerson. Honorary Pallbearers were all who shared in Wilbur's life. The interment service was held at Hillcrest Cemetery, Swift Current. Wilbur was born in Coronach on October 17, 1939. He attended school at Eddyside School near East Poplar and at Coronach School. He married Audrey Layne at Scobey, Montana on December 10, 1962. Wilbur worked at Sask Wheat Pool for 28 years, as a grain buyer, in various locations in Southern Saskatchewan. In his younger years, Wilbur enjoyed curling and playing baseball. He was an avid bowler and loved playing cards, fishing, camping, woodworking, and word search puzzles. Wilbur enjoyed spending time with family, fixing things for everybody, and going to Indians baseball games. He had a great sense of humour. Wilbur loved reliving stories of his youthful antics, teasing and practical jokes. He also loved to go for brunch on Sundays. Wilbur will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his family and friends.
