Passed in: British Columbia, Canada

FRED TIPPIE It is with heavy hearts and great sadness we regret to inform you of the passing of Fred Tippie on December 23, 2007. Fred was predeceased by his father Lawrence in 2003 and his mother Elizabeth in 2007. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Bridget, his two much adored sons, Brett (Sarah) of Squamish and Jake of Kamloops. His four sisters, Marne (Tarrie) Korner of Regina, Saskatchewan, Sharon (Ralph) Varney of Edmonton, Alberta, Carol (Steve) Kiss of Burnaby, British Columbia and Kathryn Fleming of Red Deer, Alberta, and many nieces and nephews who enjoyed his wit, humour and many stories. Fred was born in Stettler, Alberta on June 9, 1943 and was raised on a farm near there. He was always so proud of his prairie roots and you would know it within the first few minutes of meeting him. He met and married Bridget in 1968, and travelled to many places before settling in Kamloops in 1977, where he taught school until his retirement in 2002. He would always be greeted and remembered fondly by former students he met in and about town. In his retirement he resumed his love of water color painting and his art is enjoyed in many homes and offices. He shared his love of music with whomever would listen. He played guitar and sang and would not need much persuasion to perform at family gatherings, his gift of conversation delighted many. Fred will be remembered and missed by all who knew him. We wish to thank all our families and many friends for their thoughts, prayers and support. A Celebration of Fred's life will be officiated by family friend Guy Perrett on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Calvary Community Church, 1205 Rogers Way, Kamloops. On-line condolences may be expressed at www.schoenings.com Arrangements are entrusted to Schoening Funeral Service, telephone 374-1454.
