Byron Forsyth of Ontario and formerly of Forsyth Street, New Waterford, passed away at his residence on Monday, Dec. 21, 2009.
Born in New Waterford, he was the son of the late Adam and Edith (MacLean) Forsyth.
Byron was a member of Calvin United Church, New Waterford. He was a welder by trade and worked for Dominion Diving Company doing under water welding. He also did welding underwater on oil rigs.
He is survived by his former wife and best friend, Pauline LeMoine; one son, Michael, Windsor, N.S.; four brothers, Olaf (Marie), New Waterford, Hugh, Lingan, Donald (Jane), New Waterford, Adam (Theresa), Beachmount; one sister, Brenda (Gary) Wilkinson, Reserve Mines; and one granddaughter, McKenzie.
Cremation has taken place. A graveside committal service will be held at a later date in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney, with Rev. Duncan Roach officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford.
