Passed peacefully away at St. Luke’s Nursing Home, St. John’s, Mabel M. Short (nee Colbourne) in her 91st year, formerly of Beaumont, N.D. Bay. She is predeceased by husband, Lewis; sons: Everett and Rupert; son-in-law, Robert Critch; great-granddaughters: Emily and Claire Bennett; brothers: Bramwell (Mabel), Ross (Nellie), Norman and James. Left with fond memories son David (Hilda); daughters: Joan (Ray) Bennett, Geraldine Critch, Patsy (Fred) White; daughter-in-law, Susan Short; thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; sisters: Meta (Bernard) Fudge, Winnifred (Charles) Soper and Stella Wiseman; sisters-in-law: Mammie Colbourne, Maggie Colbourne, Olive Short and Maggie Short; special friends: Lenora Broennie and members of 1st Baptist Church, St. John’s; also a wide circle of other friends and close relatives. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will take place at Beaumont at a later date.
