Lawrence Garrity ‘Hopper’ McVeigh, formerly of Dominion, died peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, at Victoria Haven, Glace Bay.
Born in Inverness, he was a son of the late Michael and Rose (LeBlanc) McVeigh.
Hopper is survived by brothers, Peter and Gerald (Carol) of Dominion; sister, Mary (Murray) Tyndall, Clinton, Ont.; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, James and Michael and sister, Rose McNeil.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Curry’s Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay. Funeral Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating.
Donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or a charity of one’s choice.
