In Loving Memory of Robert Henry POWELL October 15, 1918 - December 29, 2007 Robert Powell passed away at his home in Birch Island, BC, on Saturday, December 29, 2007, after a brief illness. He was 89 years of age. Robert was born in Lumby, BC and spent the past 60 years in the North Thompson valley, a place he dearly loved. Left to mourn Robert's passing is Verna, his loving wife of 23 years. Robert will also be dearly missed by his daughter Lois (Lou) Fajkus of Comox, BC, daughter Ruth (Ed) Bernier of Nanaimo, BC, son Jim (Arlene) Powell of Barriere, BC, daughter Sharon (Marvin) Lehr of Medicine Hat, AB, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Robert was predeceased by his first wife, Irene, in 1982 and by his grandson Lance Miller in 1982. A Funeral Service for Robert Powell will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2008 at the Royal Canadian Legion in Clearwater, BC. Interment will follow at the Riverview Cemetery in Clearwater, BC, with friends and family invited to gather back at the Legion afterwards for refreshments.
