Born in Black Rock Boularderie she was the daughter of the late John A. and Mary (MacKinnon) MacDonald. She was a life member of Drummond Memorial U.C.W and a member of Drummond United Church. Catherine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to bake, knit and make crafts. She enjoyed having family around and welcomed visitors with a smile and a good cup of tea.
She is survived by her husband, Gordon C. MacKenzie; daughters, Muriel (Harry) Winter and Agnes (Shane) MacFarlane; brother, Angus (Elaine) MacDonald; sisters, Margaret Newdeck and Wilma Tofuri; grandchildren, Paula (Paul), Scott (Karie), Derek (Laura), Mel (Stephie) and Brenda; great-grandchildren, Samara, Paige, Kenzie and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Malcolm MacDonald.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Drummond Memorial Church, Boularderie with Rev. Sean Handcock and Rev. Louis Ihasz officiating. Burial in Dummond Memorial Cemetery.
