The death occurred peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, December 24, 2009, of Clara Sauer of Savage Harbour, aged 78. Beloved wife of the late George Sauer and mother of Fred, Wendy (Albert) MacDonald, Marion (Terence) MacDonald, and Tony (Sophie). Loving grandmother of Stephanie and Debbie MacDonald; Katharine, Nicholas, Alanna, and Alexandra MacDonald; and Claire and Andrew Sauer. Predeceased by sisters, Friedl and Gundi and brother-in-law, Peter, and survived by sister, Amalie. Resting at the MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel. Funeral service Monday at St. John’s United Church, Mount Stewart at 10 a.m. Interment to follow later in the Mount Stewart Peoples Cemetery.
