It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Margaret Bruce at her home in Placentia on December 25, 2009. Predeceased by members of the Bruce and Murray families: her husband Anthony Bruce; son Gerard and her infant daughter. Leaving to cherish her memory are her children Carl (Donna), Paul (Sherry), Dick (Anita), Lois (Don), Herman (Lena), Randy (Donna Marie), Patti (John), as well as their families; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her sisters Madeline Whelan, Josephine Power and their families; brother Thomas and family; as well as a large circle of friends. A sincere thank you to all the staff at the Placentia Hospital who helped with Mom over the years, you were like family to her. Our mother struggled with health issues for 47 years, but she always kept on going and did whatever she had to do to make the most of her life. Her strength and courage will live on in all of those who were fortunate to have known her. Resting at Maher’s Funeral Home on Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place 11 a.m. on Monday at Sacred Heart Parish, Placentia.
