Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at the Health Science Centre on Thursday, December 24th, 2009. Herb Mitchell, aged 70 years. Predeceased by his mother Cecilia and father Jacob Mitchell and caregivers Mae and Bill Flynn. Leaving to mourn his devoted wife Jane (Jenny) Power, formerly of Petty Harbor; son: George Smith of B.C.; brother: Albert Mitchell (Janet) of St. Anthony; stepdaughters: Cathy Swain, Ann-Marie (Levi), Lydia (Robert), Mabel (Ron), Mary Frances (Ches), and Loretta (Fred); stepsons: Clayton (Patience), Jimmy (Teresa), Vince (Mary), and Peter (Bernadine); several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, TORBAY. Visitation on Saturday from 2 to 9 p.m., Sunday from 10 a.m.to 9 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, December 28, 2009 at 2 p.m. from St. Michael’s Church, Flatrock. Interment to follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Flatrock. Flowers gratefully accepted or a donation may be made in his memory to a charity of one’s choice.
