TAYLOR, Constance Irene “Connie” – Middle Stewiacke, passed away peacefully, with family at her side, on Saturday evening, May 19, 2012, at Halifax Infirmary, QEII, Halifax. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of Pearl (Stevens) Taylor, Birch Hill, and the late Rupert Taylor. Connie recently returned to Nova Scotia from Burlington, Ontario and Toronto, Ontario, where she lived for the past 32 years. She was a graduate of Brookfield Rural High School, Sir Sanford Fleming College, Peterborough, Ontario, and York University. She retired from CBC Sports, Toronto, after 30 years. Along with her mother, Connie is survived by her sisters, Diane, Thelma, Shirley (James), Sandra; brother, Mark (Karen); nieces, Taylor, Kelda; nephews, Andrew, Darren, Casey, Thomas; two great nieces; one great nephew. She was predeceased by brothers, Elmer, Rupert, Jr. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Connie’s family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m., Thursday, May 24, 2012. Private family interment will be held in Middle Stewiacke Cemetery. If so desired, donations in Connie’s memory to Canadian Cancer Society or charity of choice are welcomed.
