Passed in: British Columbia, Canada

JULIE MARIE KATAN (nee Francis) Julie passed away peacefully after a long illness in Kamloops, BC, in the early morning hours of January 12, 2008 with loving family at her side. Julie will be deeply missed by her husband Chris, her children Bruce, Brian, Charlene (Louis), Nadelle, Jeff (Krystle) and Vanessa, and by her grandchildren Janine, Cruz, Matthew, Austin, Rachelle, Chantelle, and Jenna. Julie is also survived by her brother Raymond and sisters Marilyn and Susan, and will be missed by her many relatives: aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father and mother Lou and Hazel Francis and by her first husband George Bonner. Born May 2, 1947 in Kelowna, BC, Julie was a homemaker for many years raising her six children and sharing in the joy of her seven grandchildren. She had a love for family and touched the lives of everyone who met her. Julie had an ability to find humour in almost everything; she brought a lot of fun to those around her, often with a story or a joke. Despite having many health issues herself, Julie had care and compassion for the residents in her care home and for anyone else who needed a listening ear or a shoulder to lean on. Julie was the strong backbone of her large family, and her beautifully decorated home was always bustling with people. Her laughter and jovial personality will be sadly missed but cherished forever. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service at Schoening's Funeral Home, 513 Seymour Street in Kamloops, Friday, January 18, 2008. Viewing will be held from 10:00am to 11:00am, and service at 11:00am. Tea and luncheon will follow at the Eagle's Hall, 755 Tranquille Road at 3:00pm
