It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father David Clifford Allen on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at home with his family by his side.

Dave is survived by his wife of 58 years, Thelma and his three sons Richard (Sue), Scott (Elizabeth), Stuart (Pam); thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Dave was predeceased by his mother Mildred and his brother Bill.

Dave and Thelma moved to Kamloops from Victoria in 1957 after Dave graduated from U.B.C. in 1953. Dave was part of his class executive being the publicity director. Dave became a well-known pharmacist in Kamloops through the many years he owned Mallory Drugs and Kipp Mallory with his long-time partner and friend Merv Phillips.

Dave was a founding member of the College of Pharmacists for U.B.C. and is an honorary member of the B.C. Pharmacists Society. Dave was an alderman for the Village of Valleyview, before amalgamation and was instrumental in getting the new bike path built, that has recently been finished in Valleyveiw. Dave was the longest standing member of the Kamloops Gyro Club and was the club President in 1966. He also sat on the board of directors for the Kiwanis sponsored Phoenix House for five years.

Dave was a minor hockey coach at the bantam level throughout the 60's and early 70's and won many championships. He was also a huge Canucks and Blazers fan through thick and thin.

Dave was a member of the congregation of Saint Paul's Cathedral for over 50 years supporting the church and his cousin the Bishop John Snowden when he was there.

Dave was a very special giving person who touched many lives in a positive and loving way his whole life and he will be missed by us all.

A Service to honor Dave will be held at Saint Paul's Cathedral on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. with a reception to follow in the church hall.
