
ROBERT "BOB" McLAUCHLAN

Robert “Bob” McLauchlan, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2012 in Moose Jaw, SK. Bob was born September 1, 1937 in Hanley, Saskatchewan to David and Mary McLauchlan. From an early age Bob set out as an entrepreneur, showing his drive, perseverance and tenacity at every opportunity. As a young boy he took an interest in cars, which would be the basis of his lifelong career; and played hockey, which he would go on to coach. In 1950, Bob moved to Moose Jaw, where he would meet his future bride Dora Gamble. On December 27, 1958 Bob and Dora were married, and shortly after they welcomed their first child of five. Bob took great pride in his wife and family. He enjoyed traveling to many places, and spending quality time with loved ones. Bob was known to both his family, and in the community as a very influential and inspirational man. Through his business, Great West Tire Exchange, he was able to give back to the community with his annual golf tournament, and through his charity work in the Moose Jaw Shrine Club, and the Association of Canadian Travelers (ACT). Bob loved to make people smile, and could always be counted on for a good laugh or joke. He will be lovingly remembered for his courageous battle with cancer, and his fighting spirit, both in life and death. He is now able to finally join his wife in heaven. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, David and Mary McLauchlan, sisters Joanne and Darlene, brothers Raymond and John, and his loving wife Dora. Bob is survived by his sister Margaret (Orville) Biberdorf; his five children, Dianne (Randy) Aasen, Ronnie (Brenda) McLauchlan, Brenda (Al) Carey, Sherri (Doug) Mayson and Rob McLauchlan. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Lisa Storozuk, Jamie Aasen, Brittany Mayson, Colton and Tristan Carey, Barbie Given and Becky Andrews. Bob also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren. A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
